Beginning Bookworms

This pod will be for those students who are just beginning to read! Even if your child knows some letter sounds, they will fit right in! Our scope and sequence will be: 26 letter names and sounds (in groups, not alphabetical order) Blending CVC (consonant vowel consonant words, i.e. cat, fig) FLSZ rule Digraphs (th, sh, ch, wh, ng, ck) Open syllables Blends (two letters that blend together but don’t make a new sound i.e. cl, st) Magic/ Bossy E Vowel Teams Rhyming (throughout these steps through listening) Throughout these we will read words and decodable texts when we are ready!
