For Labor Day, the FunCation offices and virtual campus will be closed on Monday, 9/4/23. We will reopen and resume normal business hours on Tuesday, 9/5/23.

Art Club: Creating a Color Wheel

Time: Grades K-5: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Eastern

Time: Grades 6-12: 2:30 PM-3:30 PM Eastern

Where: Virtual Campus: Club Room


What: Come learn about and create your very own color wheel!


Supplies:

  • Markers, Paint, or colored pencils. (Required colors: Red, Blue, & Yellow).

  • A white piece of paper.

  • A can (or something similar in size) & and a paper plate.

  • A ruler.

 

Thursday, 9/7/23: FB Live Stream Training: Understanding the ISIPS in Istation

Time: 1:00 PM Eastern

Where: Facebook: FunCation Academy-Group


What: We will discuss how to read the ISIPS and utilize it to support our students' learning.


 

Thursday, 9/7/23: LIVE Academic Success Class: Reading for Better Comprehension

Time: 2:00 PM-3:00 PM Eastern

Where: FunCation Virtual Campus: Large Group Room A




What: In Reading for Better Comprehension, students will learn how to fully analyze their reading. The focus will be on reading fully, building vocabulary, and gathering important information.

 

Friday, 9/8/23: Parents-as-Teachers Training: What does it mean to homeschool?

Time: 2:00 PM-3:00 PM Eastern

Where: FunCation Virtual Campus: FunTorium




What: We will discuss what homeschooling means, our responsibilities as the parent/teacher/administrator, and the types of homeschooling available.


 

Book Club

Our Book Club for 6th-12th graders will hold its first meeting on 9/14/23. Students will be reading "The Giver" by Lois Lowry.

























 

Student Activity of the Week: Fireworks in a Jar

You can now find Spanish Basics under our FREE resources.


Spanish Basics is a supplement to prepare students for Spanish 1 and provide continued support for all Spanish courses.





 

The Virtual College and Career Counselor is now open as a paid resource for just $6.99/month per student.


This paid resource provides ongoing support for grades 8-12 students to help with academic planning, transcript preparation, and planning beyond high school. Access and support for Overgrad and the Common App are also provided.


Students needing to complete an SAT and ACT prep course can sign up for this extra benefit.



 

College, Career, and Higher Education Test Preparation Courses are now open!


Online, self-paced, teacher-supported test preparation for the following: ACT, SAT, Accuplacer, ASVAB, HiSET, GED, TASC, TEAS, and TABE.


What's included?

  • Access to the chosen test preparation courses

  • Unlimited Access to Study Hall

  • Teacher support and guidance

Pricing: $25.00/month per student



 

Registration for the Fall Parent Workshop Series is now open!

  • Workshop 1: Academic Planning for High School: September 29, 2023

  • Workshop 2: Transcript Preparation: October 27, 2023

  • Workshop 3: Life Beyond High School: November 17, 2023

  • Workshop 4: Scholarships and FAFSA: December 15, 2023

  • Workshops begin promptly at 1:00 PM Eastern and end no later than 3:00 PM Eastern.

  • All workshops are LIVE on our virtual campus.

  • FA Community Members with Full Access and FA Community Members with Base Access plus Parent Support receive 1 free workshop. Please reach out to billing for instructions.
